Rainwater Infiltration

As the urbanization system grows, the ability of the land to absorb rainwater, in many cases is reduced or canceled due to the necessary construction of impermeable surfaces such as roofs, pavements, roads, parking, etc. and the rain that once could seep into the ground in a natural way, is currently lost by the sewage system.

It is an example of  a functional  Sustainable Drainage System -SuDS  Combining drenotube® rainwater infiltration + harvesting (attenuation). Storage capacity of tanks or geocellular crates can be used for irrigation or indoor. When the tank is full, excess water is diverted to drenotube® large infiltrative surface system to recharge groundwater.

1 – Filtration
2 – Sedimentation

3 – Rainwater Harvesting Tank
4 – drenotube® Rainwater Infiltration

5 – Ground Water

Drenotube helps to restore the natural water cycle by infiltrating rainwater into the ground.

Rainwater management also helps to reduce flood damage.

Easy and quickly to install without the need of using gravel. It is flexible and can therefore surround any obstacle. It is made with recycled material and it is CE certified.

It is important to install a filtration system before water enters the drenotube line. In some cases stormwater runoff is heavily polluted and must be treated – filtration / sedimentation / separation.

Other Advantages:

    • Minimizes the accumulation of surface water in short episodes of heavy rains.

    • Avoids the proliferation of mosquitos and other insects.

    • It allows a high infiltration surface distributed throughout the entire installation.

    • Reduces and slows runoff water.

    • Favors the phreatic and aquifer levels.

    • It manages a natural resource, avoiding its contamination.

    • Low maintenance and long durability.

    • Controls pollution – filtration through the soil layer.

    • Saves stormwater treatment – reducing discharge into the sewer system.

  • Distance to groundwater should be at least 1 – 1,5 m
  • Consider porosity and permeability of the soil – Minimum infiltration rate
  • Hold recomended distance to buildings to avoid negative impact on the building foundation (at least 6m)
